After the youtube video series and starting up of this blog we descend further into F1 madness as I’m proud to bring you ladies and gents the inaugural episode of what will hopefully be a longstanding podcast series where you can join Matt Ruda -or as I like to call him, Mr. Newey Jr.- and myself for a wild ride through the Formula One season.

Aided by our groundbreaking and super scientific alternative WDC ranking method where we split up the WDC in three parts, we’ll take a deep dive into the fight for the WDC but also give special attention to what’s happening behind the all stars which already hog enough of the media limelight and look towards the midfield and our beloved backmarkers.

The inaugural podcast is at the same time a Hungarian GP review, a mid season review as well as a preview of what awaits us from Spa onwards. Do be so kind to leave us some feedback, either in the comments section below or tweet us @TheVillainF1 and @Agentmulder5

Thank you all for listening, and hope you enjoy the ride!

  1. nice podcast, maybe you could upload it onto youtube and put some f1 gameplay in the background.

Just finished listening to this. I must say, I’m really impressed. Compared to other F1 podcasts it was right up there on the “enjoy listening” scale!
Really cool idea with the different championships, that was really interesting, showing some unexpected results.
I’ll tune in for the next episode for sure, keep up the good work!

What is the RSS feed for your podcast? I suggest that you place it somewhere prominently on your webpage. It’s kind of important.

  8. Hi guys,

Congratulations on getting your podcast out there. I know that what appears to be the most simple stuff on the internet is not that easy, so well done.

One thing that surprised me was how poor old Chandhok got slammed for his performance in Germany. Honestly, I thought he did a good job by finishing the race. He only had three timed laps in 2011 prior to that weekend and thought he did a great job to acclimatise himself with the car after not racing for 12 months or so.

Another point that surprised me was how many times you thought Ricciardo (to be pronounced “Ricardo” as in Ricardo Patrese) finished ahead of Liuzzi on merit. Just the once, in Germany. In Hungary, Liuzzi had a tremendous start but retired due to mechanical failure I believe.

Anyway, keep up the good work. It’s nice to have people looking beyond RBR, Ferrari and McLaren.

    • Correction: it is in Germany Vitantonio Liuzzi did not finish and deservedly got beaten in Hungary.

many thx for the feedback, much appreciated. I may have been a tad harsh on good ‘il Karun, but he did make Germany into a spinfest. Agreed there are mitigating circumstances seeing how little time he’s had in a 2011 car, so we’ll see if India sees him up his game. If Hungary is any indication of what’s to come for Ricciardo, Vitantonio should start getting worried, though he’s positively surprised me this year with his grit in the HRT.

ermm where’s the newest podcast already??

    • Matt Ruda says:

We (and by that I mean I) have been having audio uploading issues. Hopefully I can get this sorted tomorrow and we can get the episode out. This episode upload is more tempermental then Webbo’s KERS.
